Twist springback and microstructure analysis of PEEK sheets in ultrasonic-assisted thermal incremental forming

With a view to reducing the springback and twist of PEEK during incremental forming process, ultrasonic vibration is introduced into polymer thermal single-point process (SPIF). In this study, effects temperature on formed parts are investigated. Several modified tool trajectories developed, influence trajectory also studied. Finally, microstructures analyzed by XRD. The results show that increase helpful reduce springback. beneficial improvement geometric accuracy, while side wall bulge aggravates at 140 ? after applied. optimized can effectively eliminate parts. XRD result shows molecular chain orientation, improve crystallinity, refine crystallite 60 100 ?. However, opposite trend occurs due disorientation effect chain.
